Below is the official Geocaching Policy of the St. Louis County Parks. It has NOT changed in any way but with all the new cachers on board, it would be good to review the rules concerning cache placement.  Both *gln and Mongo are aware of the policy and may question cache submissions differently based on where they are placed, such as a STL County Park, or State Park, or MO Conservation area, etc).

PURPOSE:

To regulate the game of Geocaching in St. Louis County Parks

POLICY:

It is the policy of the St. Louis County Department of Parks and Recreation to allow the game of Geocaching in County Parks so long as the activity does not interfere with other activities. Caches are not to be located in restricted areas or inside buildings. Disturbance of natural resources within County Parks is prohibited.

DEFINITION:

Geocaching is a game for GPS (Global Positioning Systems) users. Individuals/organizations place caches and share the location of caches on the Internet. GPS users can use the location coordinates to find the caches. Once found, the user records their find on www.Geocaching.com.
